How an ancient religious site inspires contemporary graffiti artists

Birds (Super-A, Collin van der Sluijs)

Even after 900 years, Park Abbey continues to inspire, as evidenced by perhaps one of the most famous murals in Leuven. Graffiti artists Super-A and Collin van der Sluijs skilfully depicted the richness of flora and fauna surrounding the park abbey ponds. Their street art helps to form as a graphic gateway to Park Abbey!

The kingdom (Treepack)

If you walk all the way around the ponds, at the railway bridge on Hoegaardsestraat, you come face to face with the enchanting street art of artists’ collective Treepack. In a style reminiscent of fairy-tale books, you stroll past the fauna and flora of the Park Abbey ponds. More than 100 local residents contributed to this participative street art project.
